Thank You HHH

This was the last week of volunteer at HHH for the semester.

We did not do much this week, but we did have the chance to spend time with Ms. Cherie before her retirement. AJ and I spent the hour folding thank you cards with the correctly labeled and stamped envelopes. Ms. Cherie is amazing, I have only been with HHH for 3 months and I have already received 3 cards from her, and the best part is that they are PERSONALIZED!! She sent one to thank me for my interest in volunteering at the clinic, wished me a happy birthday and a Thanksgiving card! While putting the Thanksgiving cards together for Ms. Cherie, we conversed about what she would do next in life and what would happen at the clinic in her place. She informed us that her replacement, Nicole Harris, has had years of experience in volunteer coordinating. That attribute was much needed, after looking through all the resumes there were sooo few applicants with volunteer coordinating experience!!

On a good note: AJ, Elizabeth and I pitched in and got Ms. Cherie a retirement/thank you gift. We surprised her during our volunteer hour and she was ecstatic! I would be too if someone got me and amazingly yummy smelling bath set :) I am pretty sure Ms. Cherie spent 15 minutes thanking us and telling us how sweet we were, but all we could say was "no, thank you Ms. Cherie." Which is true, thank you Ms. Cherie for giving us the opportunity to work with you and with the clinic. Thank you for allowing us to contribute some of our time to help the workers, volunteers and patients of Healthcare for the Homeless.

This concludes my blog for this semester, but my work at HHH will continue throughout next semester and possibly beyond!!
